29 Jun My job is pretty strange
My job is pretty strange because the day that I get to do the most and make the biggest difference is someone else’s worst day. I work as a Firefighter/Paramedic and the time I really get to do my job is when someone is really sick, hurt, or something is on fire (things that most people want to avoid).
What about you? Have you had any scary moments in your life? Maybe you watched a friend do something stupid and really hurt themselves. Maybe you had a scare physically and were worried that you might be having a real life threatening emergency. These are scary moments and I have seen so many over the years. You know who the people are that end up with the best outcomes? It’s the people who were around others who knew what to do in an emergency. Take my now friend Celine. She was not feeling well, went to get some sushi with her 10 year old daughter and had a cardiac arrest right there in the restaurant! YIKES! She was blessed to be a few tables away from some highly trained Navy Corpsmen who recognized the emergency, acted quickly, and started CPR on her right there in the restaurant. We were only a couple of blocks away when we got the 911 call for Celine so we were able to respond very quickly. We did our jobs well and Celine made a full recovery! She is now a spokesperson for the American Heart Association and rode on the float in the Rose Parade!
